JUSTICE IS
IN MY NAME.
CARE IS IN
MY ACTIONS.

Rodmina Edalat

STUDENT. CARER. ADVOCATE.

I’m Rodmina. People are the point.

I’m an occupational therapy student at Western Sydney University. My ambition and determination led me to become an allied health assistant early in my studies, turning my passion for helping people into practical experience.

I care deeply about humanity, human rights and justice. Edalat means justice — it’s a part of my name and the way I want to show up for others.

I’m running for SRC President to bring the focus back to students: listening to your concerns, standing up for your rights and working towards support that makes a difference in everyday life.

“Justice is in my blood.”

01

STUDENTS AT THE CENTRE

Bringing the focus back to student needs, wellbeing and everyday life. Support should start with what makes a meaningful difference to students.

CARE THAT FEELS REAL
02

HUMANITY, RIGHTS & JUSTICE

Every student deserves dignity, fairness and a voice. I want to lead with empathy, stand up for student rights and bring the conversation back to people’s needs, across our differences.

COMPASSION IS A STARTING POINT
03

LISTENING INTO ACTION

Listening is only the beginning. My experience managing a swim club taught me to take concerns seriously, communicate them to the people who can help, and do my best to accommodate individual needs. That’s the approach I want to bring to student representation.

CARE IS
A VERB.

I regularly volunteer to pack and distribute food to people experiencing homelessness. For me, care means giving my time, treating people with dignity and showing up where I can help.

REPRESENTING WESTERN SYDNEY UNIVERSITY

Student Leadership Summit 2026

I represented WSU at the 2026 Student Leadership Summit, connecting with other young leaders and taking part in conversations about service, homelessness and the difference we can make together.

PEOPLE FIRST.
IN PRACTICE.

The care I believe in is the care I try to put into practice — at work, in my studies and in my community.

LEADING WITH
AN OPEN EAR.

Rainbow Club Australia · Former swim club team lead / club manager

I managed a swim club, listening to clients’ concerns, feedback and enquiries. I regularly communicated those needs to my manager and did my best to accommodate clients’ requests. That experience shaped how I listen, advocate and take responsibility.

02

TURNING AMBITION
INTO CARE.

Occupational therapy student · Allied health assistant

Becoming an allied health assistant early in my studies gave me the opportunity to help others while building my skills. My ambition is rooted in the kind of difference I can make for people.

03

GIVING TIME.
GIVING BACK.

Food volunteering · Blood donation

Alongside regularly packing and giving out food to people experiencing homelessness, I have also donated blood. Different ways of giving, with the same belief: helping someone else matters.

A little discomfort. A bigger purpose.

CARE DOESN’T
STOP AT
COMFORT.

I’m taking on Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge to help raise funds in support of Mobilise and people experiencing homelessness.

My challenge is to sleep in my car every day during the challenge. It’s a commitment to step outside my comfort zone and turn concern into support.
